Premises Liability Benefit.
Yours with an individual membership.

  • Is premises liability insurance necessary?

Yes, this is a must for every self-employed business person. If you rent, lease or are paying for using space in a building, you can be held liable for accidents or damage even if your landlord has premises liability insurance. You will need this to cover all your business meetings, to rent a meeting room or office, or to have meetings in your home.

You want your business to be protected. Our society has become quite litigious -- every day we read of someone suing for large amounts of money over a very small incident. And often winning!

Having liability insurance is a small price to pay to protect your business, your family, your future earnings, and your reputation from any claims made against you. Back yourself with the ability to protect yourself.

Solid coverage for our members

What does the ICA Group Premises Liability Benefit cover?

This policy is from an A+ rated underwriter. There are no deductibles to this policy. If you happen to be sued, the ICA insurance coverage will pay for your defense and pay for any damages ruled by the court, subject to policy limits, in the following situations:

  • Premises liability insurance covers any injury that occurs within your space of work. This is also known as trip-and-fall insurance. You can be sued for any accident that occurs wherever you are doing business -- such as tripping over the edge of a carpet or electrical cords, slipping on a spilled drink.

What are the limits of my coverage?

  • The limit of liability coverage is $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 individual annual aggregate. This means the insurance coverage will pay up to $1,000,000 for injury resulting from one occurrence, and it will pay up to $2,000,000 for the sum of all claims paid per year.

Am I covered after my membership has expired or stopped?

  • The ICA Group policy is occurrence form, which means that you are covered as long as you were covered at the time of the incident, even if the claim is made years later and your policy is no longer in effect.

Coverage wherever you work

Where am I covered?
  • You are covered wherever you work -- your office, home office, seminars, conventions, hotels, etc.

If I travel or move to another state am I covered?

  • You are covered in all 50 U.S. states as well as the U.S. territories.

Additional Benefit Holders available

The owner of a meeting center where I'm holding a seminar requires that his company be added to my insurance for his protection against claims that occur in the space? Can I do that?

  • Yes, for an extra $10.00 a landlord or facility (such as a convention center) can be listed as an Additional Benefit Holder on your policy. After five Additional Benefit Holders, there is no charge for adding more.
Can the ICA insure my company?

  • No, the ICA Group is an association of individual members. But if everyone in your company is a member of the ICA and lists your company as an Additional Benefit Holder, then your company will be covered. Also know that if you are a corporation officer or in a partnership, the legal name of your corporation or partnership should be added as an Additional Benefit Holder.
